Evidencing and Researching Educational Practice
The module will cover the evidence base for many of the common concepts of learning and instruction that are currently in use in the higher education generally, particularly the education of healthcare professionals. These will include learning theories, learning styles, feedback, cognitive load theory, retrieval practice and the science of learning. These will all be considered in detail, alongside their application to the context of the education of health professionals.¿The module also aims to develop participants¿ awareness of the key issues, principles and practice of educational research and to provide the knowledge and understanding required to conduct small-scale research into their own practice.

Professional Practice Development
This module will build on research understanding attained in year two and will further contextualise theoretical and practical knowledge related to the context of paramedic science. It will enable students to further develop research skills and to apply these within the context of practice. The module will enable the student to evaluate evidence based practice and look to the future as to where further research should be undertaken within a specific area of their professional practice.
The module will support students to retrieve, analyse and synthesise extensive background literature (literature review) to inform their selected research question. It will also support students to present an abstract and presentation of their research proposal arising from the literature review.

Starting Your Professional Development
The aim of this module is to equip students with the necessary skills for work based learning, including self assessment, construction of a learning contract and compilation of a portfolio of evidence.
This is the first module for students wishing to pursue the BSc or Graduate Diploma in Enhanced Professional Practice. It will introduce students to the principles of work based learning and the skills required to facilitate personal and professional development for themselves and for their colleagues.

Evidence-Based Practice and Nursing Research
The module will provide students with the opportunity to develop their critical analysis skills through research enquiry. The module will introduce concepts of research, audit and service evaluation and focus on different techniques for data collection and analysis.
The module will develop key skills for questioning, selecting, and evaluating information and evidence to support evidence-based practice and will enable students to examine and analyse aspects of research appropriate to their field of practice.
Students will be taught using blended learning techniques. This will include lectures, small group work, seminars and online resources available on Canvas.

You¿ll apply this knowledge to develop a detailed proposal for your dissertation, supporting progression into independent scholarly enquiry.
Learning is delivered through a blended approach incorporating lectures, seminars, group learning, digital learning activities, and placement learning. This integrated approach supports you to link research theory with clinical practice, developing your professional confidence in evidence-based decision making, and preparing you for postgraduate scholarly research within contemporary healthcare environments.
