This foundation module is the starting point for students undertaking the Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma, or MSc in Enhanced Professional Midwifery Practice. It is designed for midwives who wish to advance their professional practice and are ready to take the next step towards leadership roles and career progression. The module introduces the principles of work-based learning and will equip students with the tools to drive both personal and professional growth. Serving as the equivalent of a dissertation module, it requires the submission of an advanced reflective analysis of reflection on learning and practice. Drawing together and consolidating knowledge from previous modules, the analysis will illustrate how academic study and professional experiences have shaped their development and informed their midwifery practice. By integrating academic study with
professional experience, the student will illustrate how their development over the length of the programme has shaped their practice and prepared them to contribute to service improvement and professional leadership within midwifery.
