SHF105 Osteopathic Skills 1

This module introduces the students to the concepts of osteopathic practice as well as the core clinical skills of basic life skills, patient moving and handling, and anatomical principles. It provides the foundation skills for all subsequent osteopathic skills modules for the programme.
SHF106 Osteopathic Skills 2

This module further develops the concepts of osteopathic practice with regards to clinical decision making, patient management and key osteopathic clinical skills. In conjunction with SHF105 Osteopathic Skills 1, it provides the foundation skills for all subsequent osteopathic skills modules in the programme.
SHF108 Introduction to Personal and Professional Development

This module provides an introduction to the skills and knowledge required for personal and professional development for health care providers.
SHF203 Osteopathic Skills 3

This module builds upon the other osteopathic diagnostic and assessment skills modules in year 1 to explore the application of key clinical skills at a developed level.
SHF204 Osteopathic Skills 4

This module builds upon the other osteopathic skills in year 1 and year 2 to explore, evaluate and consolidate the application of key clinical skills at a developed level.
SHF302 Continuing Personal and Professional Development

This module considers key issues in osteopathy and health care practice based on reflection from student placements and learning. This module will be delivered through group discussion and feedback sessions.
SHFM04 Personal and Professional Development Portfolio

The learning and development portfolio is modelled on continuing professional development (CPD) being used by registered osteopaths in the UK. The module aims to support students to bridge from undergraduate to post graduate practice. The portfolio will closely align to the graduate CPD model, which will enable students to critically reflect on their experiences in their final year and to plan for their future professional development.
