Tissue Viability
This module aims to further develop the knowledge and skills of health care professionals who are involved in the care and management of patients with wounds, including pressure ulcers and leg ulcers. The module will also develop knowledge and skills to assess and prevent tissue damage, maintain skin integrity and reduce risk. As the module is composite and requires elements of practical skills to meet current need students will be required to undertake a minimum of 4 clinical days away from their practice base ideally placed with a wound care specialist or clinic relevant to their field and learning needs. The module is 13 weeks in duration, therefore will be split into 9 theory weeks and 4 clinical days.

The module will enable registered health and social care professionals to explore the complexities associated with the needs of the older person and identify strategies for promoting their health and wellbeing.
