Gary is a former industry practitioner and is now a multi-disciplinary scholar within the Strategic Operations and Analytics group in the School of Management. He is an Oxford University (Mathematics) graduate who completed his PhD at Swansea University on the topic of online consent for personal data processing. He also holds an MSc in Computer Science, a Graduate Diploma in Law, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice.

Gary has over 20 years of experience at the leading edge of the telecommunications industry, having occupied various technical and strategic positions across a variety of service-oriented roles within large multinational companies such as Vodafone and Siemens.

His research interests, which use both qualitative and quantitative methods, build upon his practitioner expertise and multi-disciplinary background, and lie at the intersection of the domains of artificial intelligence, human behaviour, online privacy, data ethics and legal systems.
