This generic cross-disciplinary module aims to provide an introduction for learners to:
(a) the practice of becoming entrepreneurial;
(b) Using creativity and creative thinking to generate and develop opportunities
(c) the development of entrepreneurial ways of thinking and doing; and,
(d) the exploitation of opportunities in the achievement of value.
This practical course will help learners to develop their own ideas and pursue personal achievement by developing and delivering a project that will make a difference in their communities.

This module provides the student with a broad overview of the management functions while introducing the opportunities that digital technologies provides businesses today to achieve competitive advantage. The module provides a contemporary curriculum that meets the needs of industry in the 21st century, by underpinning each topic within the digital context within which the business is situated. The module introduces the students to three main topic areas: the first provides an overview of the management functions within the context of the digital age, it then explains the importance of managing big data, data, information, knowledge as well as processes, to enhance competitive advantage, and lastly addresses the key leadership and management issues faced within the digital age.

This is a practical, project based module where students will set up and run an enterprise venture or social enterprise during one teaching block. MN-2054 Business Planning is a co-requisite for this module, and students must take it order to progress onto MN-2559 Applied Entrepreneurship. Students may have been awarded an investment based on their pitches to the School of Management Investment Fund on MN-2054. This investment will contribute to student costs for setting up this enterprise.
