Today’s complex research questions do not respect the artificial boundaries between traditional disciplines. This requires different ways of working which are more imaginative and dynamic than in the past. Our research environment reflects this; we are combining innovation and excellent facilities to encourage more work across disciplinary boundaries. The Morgan Advanced Studies Institute (MASI) will provide a home for multidisciplinary research to flourish and will enhance our competitiveness for interdisciplinary funding streams.

We proudly hold the European Commission HR Excellence in Research Award in recognition of our commitment to support the career development of all Research Staff. The Swansea University Research Staff Working Group oversees the delivery of the Concordat Action Plan, to support the Career Development of Researchers. We celebrate the achievements of our research community with the Research and Innovation Awards and provide exciting and innovative competitions such as Research as Art to support creativity and help promote our research to new audiences.
