Typically, we recommend beginning university research around Spring time, before UCAS applications are submitted between September - January.

University Accommodation

We know your child living away from home can be daunting, but Swansea University has plenty of options to make them feel at home!

Finding the right accommodation can make a real difference when it comes to settling in and feeling at home which is why it's important to look at the accommodation factors that are most important to your child.

Swansea University offers guaranteed accommodation if applications are made before 30 June.

We also offer a variety of student housing across four locations, with designated areas including quiet, single sex, alcohol free, mature and Welsh speaking.

There is 24 hour security on campus and a dedicated support network that can offer help and advice throughout.

Swansea University Employability Academy

The Swansea University Employability Academy (SEA) is a free service available to all Swansea University students during their studies and after graduation.

SEA provides a wide range of activities and services, including:

  • Placement opportunities
  • Careers fairs
  • CV writing workshops
  • Employment Zone

There are also a number of Careers Advisors available to provide all the support they may need.

Student Support Services

Our students’ health and wellbeing is paramount, which is why Swansea University offers a number of services to assist your child throughout their time at university.
CampusLife is a dedicated team offering free and confidential support to students. By providing guidance, advice and support, they can help to remove barriers to learning, and sustain a safe and healthy Swansea University community.

In addition to these services, the Student Support Services team is there to ensure all Swansea University students have equal opportunities. The team offers services for students experiencing difficulties, as well as more complex long-term issues. These include sensory or physical impairments, long-term medical conditions, specific learning difficulties (SpLD), autistic spectrum conditions (ASC) and mental health conditions.
