Gemma is a Lecturer in Criminology. She specialises in offender rehabilitation, desistance, youth justice and responsive evaluations. To date, Gemma’s research has examined the implementation of evidence-based practice across youth justice services in Wales. Her work has been published in the journal of Criminology & Criminal Justice. Gemma is currently an external evaluator for a Lottery funded project – The Include Hub. She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Gemma is an early career research fellow of the international criminal justice voluntary sector research network (https://www.crimvol.org) and an academic member of Hwb Doeth; a researcher and practitioner group for the Youth Justice Board Cymru
Gemma is also a member of the European Society of Criminology's Working Group on Community Sanctions and Measures and the Collaboration of Researchers for the Effective Development of Offender Supervision (CREDOS - http://www.credos.online).
