Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE)
For courses starting after 1st January 2027, English-Domiciled students will apply for Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE) funding, which replaces Higher Education Student Finance (HESF) for new students.
Tuition Fee Loan
Students living in England can apply for a Tuition Fee Loan to cover the full cost of tuition fees (subject to terms and conditions). They can do this by applying online via Student Finance England (SFE).
Tuition Fee Loan payments will be made directly to the University upon confirmation of your attendance each term, therefore no up-front payment is required.
Maintenance Loan
The amount you are entitled to will be dependent on where you live, your household income, your age, and the number of credits you are studying. The table below demonstrates the funding available to students attending full-time (120 credits).

Maintenance payments are paid direct to you in 3 instalments. Your 1st instalment will be paid after you have enrolled and collected your ID card (the subsequent 2 instalments will be paid on the 1st day of the Spring and Summer terms).
Maintenance Loan (Those who qualify for benefits)
Students who qualify for benefits will receive an increased Maintenance Loan as detailed below.

Supplementary Grants
Students with dependent children, childcare costs, adult dependents, a disability or are classed as a Care Leaver may be entitled to additional help.
