About

Johan has been a university lecturer since 1984 at the University of British Columbia (1984 - 2007), Hong Kong Polytechnique University (2009 - 2016) and Swansea University (2019 - present). Throughout that wonderful career he has consistently been a proud advocate of first and foremost accounting professionalism (designations). Secondly, and related, undergraduate students being aspirational and striving to excel.

Using the medium of accountancy, he has passionately encouraged his learners to understand the power and awe of the accounting body of knowledge. Using accounting theory, merged with psychology, positive thinking, and practical life/business experiences he shows how accountancy is an extremely relevant and valuable/value added tool and life-skill. He has been blessed with a skill and enthusiasm to make accountancy interesting and engaging for all types of audiences.

Throughout his mentoring, example and urging many of his learners have achieved extremely successful and influential careers. Few things in life give him greater pleasure than mentoring a young learner to aspire to be a successful person, employee, and world citizen.
