Dr Jafar Ojra is a Senior Lecturer of Accounting and Finance at the School of Management, Swansea University. Dr Ojra has over eight years’ lecturing experience and currently lectures both Undergraduate and Postgraduate modules. In addition, he supervises MSc and PhD students.
Dr Ojra is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA). In 2018, he was awarded the Excellence in Learning and Teaching award from Swansea University. Jafar obtained his PhD in 2014 from Norwich Business School, University of East Anglia specialising in Strategic Management Accounting.
Jafar has presented his research at various conferences and his current research activity spans a range of topics including Strategic Management Accounting (SMA), Performance Measurement, Corporate Governance, and Entrepreneurship and SMEs.
Dr Ojra is qualified as a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). Prior to joining Swansea University in 2014, Jafar has worked extensively across various industrial sectors both in the United Kingdom and overseas.
Jafar is originally from Bethlehem, Palestine and has made his home in Swansea since 2014. Jafar is a marathon runner who enjoys the camaraderie, interaction and competition with other runners and has raised thousands of pounds for various causes.
