Course Details
This module supports you, as a qualified social worker, to step confidently into the role of practice educator; someone who plays a vital part in shaping the next generation of social workers. You will develop the knowledge, skills, and reflective capacity needed to guide a student’s learning in a purposeful, supportive, and evidence informed way, while also making fair and robust judgments about their developing competence.
Throughout the module, you will explore what effective practice education looks like in real settings: from planning meaningful learning opportunities and giving constructive feedback, to assessing capability, managing challenges, and promoting professional values. You will engage with the perspectives of students, practitioners, and organisations to understand what helps people thrive in practice learning environments.
Successful completion of this module provides formal recognition that you are competent to assess others in practice. It also offers clear evidence towards meeting Social Care Wales’ re registration requirements for continuing professional education and learning; supporting your own professional growth while contributing to the wider social work community.
