Senate has established the following committees to assist in discharging its duties and responsibilities.
The purpose of the Learning and Teaching Quality Committee is to have strategic oversight and maintenance of matters relating to the University’s quality assurance and enhancement of awards made in the name of the University; its learning, teaching and assessment at all levels of study; and the enhancement of the student experience.
The purpose of the Recruitment and admissions Committee is to oversee admission to the University and to develop policies for the University relating to the recruitment and admission of new students.
The purpose of the Welsh Language Strategy Group is to initiate and implement a strategy for the use of Welsh and the development of Welsh medium education at Swansea University, including the work of Academi Hywel Teifi and the Swansea branch of the Coleg Cenedlaethol Cymraeg. The Group will also consider and approve, prior to submission, the University’s responses to proposals and policies released for public consultation by Welsh Government and bodies such as the Welsh Language Commissioner, HEFCW and the Coleg Cymraeg. Furthermore, it will seek to raise awareness of the relevance of Welsh to the University and to emphasise its importance. Its work will throughout be guided by the University’s Welsh Language Scheme.
The purpose of CRIS is to progress, foster and review research activity in the University.
