Key Skills for Business
The aims of this module will be to prepare students for the academic rigour required in their studies, as well as to develop numeracy skills required for management. There is also an element of employability with particular focus on reflection and continuous professional development (CPD). The focus on the academic skills will support students in their development of critical skills required for problem solving, assimilation, synthesis, and criticality (while using good academic practices) of data and information sources. Additionally, focus will be on developing student¿s basic numeracy skills, introducing the students to quantitative analysis and its associated techniques, descriptive analysis, statistical summaries, and simple linear regression analysis using different techniques and tools. The timing of the skills development needs to align with the level and requirements for that level.

The module will provide an overview of the statistical methods necessary for accounting/finance analysis, focusing specifically on the use of computer packages to conduct statistical analysis.

Stage 1 Interactive Learning Skills and Communication
This module has been designed to help students develop their academic literacy and communication skills in preparation for undergraduate study and to understand the institutional culture, practices, rules and expectations of British higher education in an international academic context and community.
The module is benchmarked to the Common European Framework of Reference for Language Learning. Assignments for each of the four skills of academic reading, writing, speaking and listening are included in order to confirm that students meet the appropriate exit threshold in English language proficiency.

This is a skill that can be learned and developed with thoughts, actions, knowledge and a commitment to achieving your goals. Having the right tools and a willingness to succeed can lead to a positive, healthy, well balanced and stress-free life. This module aims to help students understand the importance of resilience and how to become resilient. Students will learn about the key components of resilience to ensure they have the tools needed to maintain good physical and mental well-being when faced with challenging situations.

This module has been designed to help native and near-native students develop to develop their academic literacy and communication skills in preparation for undergraduate study and to understand the institutional culture, practices, norms and expectations of British higher education in an international academic context and community; and to enable students to develop academic, research and communication skills using contemporary resources.
A subsidiary aim of this module is to ensure that students develop transferable and portable skills of effective and professional communication to support ongoing study as well as providing a basis to foster career and life-building skills. The module utilises a number of practical activities to allow candidates to develop these essential skills.
The module is aimed at students with a minimum of CEFR B2+ who already meet the English language entry criteria for direct entry to undergraduate study.
