January Accommodation Applications NOW OPEN!

We are delighted to be able to offer guaranteed accommodation in our brand new Halls, the Rod Jones Complex, for students commencing studies at The College, Swansea University, in January 2019.

Applications are now open – be the very first to stay in our high quality, en suite rooms, with a choice of Standard rooms (120cm beds) or Premium rooms (140cm beds) with additional chair and extra space.  You can apply as soon as you have your 6 digit Swansea University ID number, using the link below, just make sure to select “The College” when applying to guarantee an offer of a room (please note that premium rooms are subject to availability and could sell-out!).  If you have any questions about accommodation, please do email us at the-college-accommodation@swansea.ac.uk.

Room Types

Medium Ensuite Room

£144 per week

All rooms are equipped with:

  • Small double bed (known as 3/4 bed),
  • Bedside chest,
  • Desk
  • Chair
  • Bookshelf,
  • Storage for clothes
  • An ensuite with shower, toilet and wash hand basin. 

All rooms have broadband service and personal belongings insurance included in the rent. 

In addition, the room features blackout curtains, a pinboard, and mirror.  You will have access to a shared kitchen and a number of communal facilities (see Communal Features).

Under 18

If you are under 18 when you start your programme with The College, you will automatically be placed in single-sex flat, alcohol-free flats.

Living Environments

You may choose single-sex flats or flats where alcohol is not permitted when you apply. 

Rooms suitable for wheelchair users are available, as are flats for students with visual or hearing impairments.  Please ensure you indicate your adapted room requirements when applying, so we can allocate the correct accommodation for you. 

Premium Ensuite Room

£149 per week

This room offers a larger room than the standard,

  • A full double bed
  • Armchair
  • Drawer Unit
  • Bedside chest,
  • Desk
  • Chair
  • Bookshelf,
  • Storage for clothes
  • An ensuite with shower, toilet and wash hand basin.

All rooms have broadband service and personal belongings insurance included in the rent.

Communal Features

Rooms are arranged in flats of 4+ bedrooms, each having a Common Room with a large kitchen. 

All kitchens are equipped with:

  • Cooker
  • Hob
  • Sink
  • Microwave
  • Kettle
  • Fridge/freezer

Shared flats (4+ bedrooms) also have a breakfast bar and stools, coffee table and sofa. Please note that cutlery, crockery, and containers for separating residents’ food in fridges are not supplied.

  • There is a dedicated reception area with mail room and help desk.
  • All rooms have broadband service and personal belongings insurance included in the rent.
  • There are rooms which are specially designed for students who are wheelchair users or who have visual or hearing impairments. 
Accommodation Fees
  • A Reservation Deposit of £350.00 is payable on acceptance of your offer of accommodation and we ask that you pay this through your Accommodation Account as this will secure your room.
  • You have 7 days from the day you are offered to accept and pay the Reservation Deposit (3 days after the start of term)
  • Unfortunately, we cannot secure accommodation without the Reservation Deposit which is non-refundable if you fail to take up your accommodation.

Weekly charge

Medium Ensuite: £144 per week

Premium Ensuite: £149 per week
