I joined the College in September 2017, just prior to the joint venture between Swansea University and Navitas and currently teach on the Foundation, and Undergraduate programmes and supported delivery of the Under- and Postgraduate Marketing modules at Swansea University’s, School of Management. I am very passionate about teaching and how people learn and have also taught on leadership development programmes in the Higher Education sector including senior university staff. Prior to working in the Higher Education sector, I gained valuable experience in the private and public sector for blue-chip businesses and SMEs as a Marketing & Business Development Manager.
My aim as a teacher is to ensure that students know how to apply theoretical knowledge to practical/realistic situations. Presentations will always form a part of their future career in some shape of form. If they can learn the techniques of presenting well at this stage – they will gain an invaluable a life skill. My advice to you is to come prepared to work hard and apply yourself to learning. This may be the only time in your life when you have no other commitments (i.e family, children, work etc) that might affect your ability to devote time purely to study. Don’t waste this opportunity.
