About

Dr Hill is an Associate Professor of Applied Sport Psychology, within the Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences.  She completed a PhD that examined choking under pressure in elite golf, a MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Exeter University, and a BSc (hons) in Sport Science from Loughborough University. She is also a BPS Chartered Psychologist, a HCPC Registered Psychology Practitioner, a Fellow of CASES and the BPS, and a Senior Fellow of the HEA. 

Her research interests and applied work focuses on performance psychology, and in particular, the alleviation of choking under pressure - having published extensively in this area and offered keynote lectures on the subject across the world - including a Tedx talk. She offers psychological consultancy to a range of athletes across sports and levels - though predominantly works with professional and elite golfers on their various tours. She recently published a book which focused on the Psychology of Golf Performance under Pressure

Alongside this, Dr Hill is currently completing high profile research, which is establishing whether cold water immersion can alleviate PTSD symptoms.

Finally, Dr Hill teaches across the sport and exercise psychology modules within the BSc Sport and Exercise Science programme, and is the Programme Director for the MSc in Sport Psychology. She supervises a number of MSc and PhD research students within the sport and exercise psychology subject area.
