Conversion Courses

Have you ever thought about studying a Masters subject which is different to that of your undergraduate degree?

Conversion courses exist to broaden your knowledge base and in turn, your employment opportunities.

You won’t only become a specialist in your chosen Masters subject, but you will prove to employers that you have focus, drive and determination to turn your hand at new challenges and are open to learning new things.

We offer the following conversion courses here at the School of Management, meaning you needn’t have studied similar subjects for your undergraduate degree. We just ask that you attain a 2:2 (or overseas equivalent) in an undergraduate degree. Any degree subject will be considered.

A full list of our conversion courses can be viewed below:

If you have any questions about the above courses or your application, please contact studysom@swansea.ac.uk

Mica Woode, is studying an MSc in Management (Business Analytics) after studying her BSc Geography at Loughborough University:

“I studied Geography for my undergraduate degree but wanted to broaden my career options, which is why I decided to study an MSc Management in Business Analytics. Swansea University has made the transition of moving from one subject to another as seamless as possible. I was really pleased to hear that a course that had such a strong reputation was open to students that hadn’t previously studied business.

“I particularly enjoy marketing and data mining- two subjects that are completely new to me. Having the opportunity to study a new subject at such a high level is great and I know it will put me in good stead to get my dream job after graduating.”

Lauren Wheeler, graduated with a BSc in Maths and decided to study her MSc in Accounting and Finance:

“I loved studying mathematics for my undergraduate degree but I wanted to ensure I had knowledge of a specific career pathway before leaving university.

“I explored options for my Masters and as I enjoyed the financial elements of my mathematics degree, I decided to apply for an MSc in Accounting and Finance. The course has an excellent reputation and lent itself well to my interests and the career I saw myself in. It’s also accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) which includes exemption from up to seven ACCA fundamental exams; something that’s really attractive to future employers. As a result I am currently working for an accounting firm on a part time basis alongside my studies; working with private clients across the UK.”

Lucy Harris from Surrey, is studying an MSc in Management after completing her undergraduate degree in Sports and Exercise Science.

“I studied Sports and Exercise Science for my undergrad degree and as part of an employability module in my second year, I made a business case for a product to help disabled athletes. I really enjoyed this piece of work and I soon realised that my passion lay in the business side of sport. This inspired me to apply for a Masters in Management which I love. My favourite modules on the course are Digital Marketing and Consumer behaviour. I can’t wait to start a career that combines both my passions; sport and business.”
