When you graduate from Swansea University's School of Management (SoM) you become part of our ever-growing alumni community.

As a member of the SoM alumni community, you can:

  • Become a mentor to current students
  • Submit a case study
  • Attend alumni events
  • Advertise current vacancies

If you would like to take part in any of these activities please contact Jessica Loomba.

Become a mentor to current students

As a mentor, you will be working alongside your student to strengthen their competencies, support their career progression and enhance their graduate skills.

Typically, the student will be prepared with an agenda based on his or her own career development needs. It will be your role to provide support to enable the student to progress their career plan.

Contact the Careers Team to find out more and get involved.

"After I graduated in 2016, I received offers for three roles within major Accountancy firms. I accepted the Tax Analyst position at Ernst and Young, who are now training me to learn Swedish and Norwegian so that I can work with those head offices."

Attend Alumni events

We hold bi-annual alumni events where you are invited back to talk to our current students about life after graduation. At these events you can catch up with other alumni, network with our current students and you are welcome to complete a 'talk about your journey into the working world' and share your experiences.

Alumni and Mentoring Event 2018
Taking place in the National Waterfront museum in Swansea City Centre, we welcomed alumni from a variety of companies including Welsh Water and Deloitte, mentors from our Employability Mentoring scheme, and current students for an evening of inspiration and fun.

Two of our alumni (Steph Dalton, Student Voice Co-ordinator at Swansea University’s Students Union, and Izzy Crouch, Entrepreneur) shared their perspectives on life after university, and Stephen Weeks (TATA Steel) shared his experience as a mentor for a current Business Management student, as part of our Employability Mentoring scheme.

It was great to meet up again with our graduates and affiliates, and a fantastic opportunity for our current students to find out more about being a part of our alumni community.

Advertise current vacancies

Are you now working for a company that is looking for graduates or placement students? If so, we promote work placement opportunities to our student network and are happy to help promote any roles you may have.

You are also welcome to meet our current students through our other careers channels, including mock interviews and assessment centres.

We recently held a jobs fair at the School.

Various alumni attended, representing the companies they now work for, including DHL, Swim Wales and TATA Steel, and promoted their volunteering and placement opportunities to our current students.
