Swansea LLM Alumni with Teaching Staff
Swansea University's LLM programmes in Maritime, Commercial, Trade, Energy and Technology Law not only attract outstanding students from around the world but also open doors to exceptional career opportunities after graduation.
Over the past 25 years, hundreds of our graduates have gone on to build successful careers within leading organisations across the globe.
On 11 June, members of the LLM teaching team—Professor Baris Soyer, Professor Richard Williams, Dr Tabetha-Kurtz Shefford and Ms Angela Nicholas—were delighted to meet with a group of Swansea LLM alumni currently working in London. The event provided a valuable opportunity to reconnect, celebrate alumni achievements, and strengthen the growing Swansea Law School network.
We were particularly pleased to welcome Bleddyn Phillips, Chair of the University's Development Board and former Head of Energy at Clifford Chance. His attendance reflected the strong support that Swansea University continues to provide to the Institute of International Shipping and Trade Law and its internationally recognised LLM programmes.
Following the event, Professor Barış Soyer, Director of the Shipping & Trade LLM Programmes and Director of the Institute of International Shipping and Trade Law, said:
"I would like to extend my sincere thanks to DWF for so generously hosting this event, and especially to one of our distinguished alumni, Michael Biltoo, now a Partner at the firm, for helping to make it possible.
It was immensely rewarding to see so many of our alumni thriving in their professional careers. Witnessing their success and knowing that our programmes have played a part in their journeys, is a source of great pride and personal satisfaction.
We often say that ‘Swansea LLM takes you places’, and this event gave us a wonderful opportunity to see that promise brought to life through the achievements of our graduates.”
