Mr Richard Neylon with the winners of HFW prizes: Savas Yilmaz, Aslihan Asman and Yarkin Koc
HFW is a leading international commercial law firm with a particularly strong reputation in the industries that underpin global trade.
Founded in London in 1883, the firm has grown into a global practice with 22 offices across Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas.
We are delighted that HFW continues to maintain a close relationship with the Institute of International Shipping and Trade Law at Swansea University, annually awarding three prizes to students on our LLM programmes in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement.
This year, the following students received HFW prizes:
- Aslihan Asman – HFW Carriage of Goods by Sea, Land and Air Prize
- Yarkin Koc – HFW Admiralty Law Prize
- Savas Karer Yilmaz – HFW Oil and Gas: Contracts and Liabilities Prize
The prizes were presented by Richard Neylon, Partner at HFW, a distinguished alumnus of Swansea Law School and an Honorary Doctor of Swansea University. Following the award ceremony, the prize winners had the opportunity to meet Richard and HFW trainees at a reception, where they discussed careers in commercial and maritime law and learned more about opportunities within the firm.
Professor George Leloudas, who attended the celebrations, said:
"It is always a highlight of the academic year to celebrate the exceptional talent and hard work of our students. Aslihan, Yarkin, and Savas have set a benchmark with their achievements this year. We are immensely proud of them and equally grateful to Richard Neylon and HFW for their invaluable partnership and continued commitment to supporting our graduates as they embark on careers in the maritime sector."
