The prestigious Bose Mitra & Co Prize, established by India's leading global law firm, Bose Mitra & Co, has once again recognised outstanding achievement by an Indian student on Swansea University's internationally renowned LLM in International Maritime Law programme.

The annual prize, which carries both a monetary award and a one-month internship at the firm's offices, offers the recipient invaluable practical experience in maritime law and practice, helping to bridge the gap between academic excellence and professional development.

This year's recipient is Lakshmi Priya, who is currently completing her LLM in International Maritime Law at Swansea University. Lakshmi previously earned her LLB in Business Law from the Vellore Institute of Technology, India.

The award was presented at a ceremony in London by Raja Majumdar, Managing Partner of Bose Mitra & Co. Representing Swansea University's School of Law and the Institute of International Shipping and Trade Law, Professor George Leloudas attended the ceremony.

Congratulating Lakshmi on her achievement, Professor Leloudas said:

"We are incredibly proud of Lakshmi for her outstanding performance this year. This award is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and exceptional talent. We are also deeply grateful to Bose Mitra & Co for their continued support of the Institute and for providing our top students with such an outstanding opportunity to gain invaluable professional experience. This enduring partnership creates exceptional opportunities for our students and strengthens the connection between academic excellence and the global maritime legal profession."

The Bose Mitra & Co Prize reflects the firm's ongoing commitment to supporting the next generation of maritime lawyers while reinforcing the strong links between Swansea University's Institute of International Shipping and Trade Law and leading international practitioners.
