Aurélia was selected among several candidates from all around the world to spend 3 months as an intern at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea in Hamburg. Her daily tasks consisted of assisting legal officers during the court hearings and researching on cases dealt with by the Tribunal. She additionally supported the judges and newly elected President by researching on various aspects of the Law of the Sea.

Commenting on her time at the Tribunal, Aurélia said: “Working every day with legal professionals recognised worldwide was surely profitable in enhancing my networking skills and helped me to have a better understanding of the Tribunal’s function. Overall, I can positively attest that this was a valuable experience that enabled me to expand my technical and global knowledge, and presented me with an opportunity to work with professionals and highly qualified experts with years of practice in different fields of maritime law.”
