We want to attract and retain talented and highly-skilled staff so we make sure that our salary scales remain competitive within higher education and commercial sectors. Salary bands for each role are stated when advertised, with staff starting at the first point of the salary scale within that band and annual increments being paid each year.

We offer a generous leave entitlement of up to 31 days with additional bank holidays. No staff members at the University receive less than 29 days basic annual leave. For more information, please refer to the individual terms and conditions for each staff group.

Maternity Leave: We provide generous maternity leave and pay for those who have completed at least 52 weeks of continuous service by the estimated date of childbirth.
Paternity Leave: If you meet the eligibility criteria, you are entitled to take a maximum of two weeks off; at full pay.
Shared Parental Leave: We also offer shared parental leave which allows you and your partner to share 52 weeks’ leave for the first year. You may also be entitled to enhanced, shared parental pay for some or all of the leave you wish to take.
Adoption Leave: We offer enhanced adoption leave and pay for staff who have 26 weeks’ service with the University.
The University operates two main pension schemes: the Swansea University Pension Scheme (SUPS) and the National Employment Savings Trust (NEST), both of which offer excellent benefits. Information on the scheme which suits you best will be provided when you join.
We have a range of health and wellbeing services on campus including a medical centre, dental surgery, sports centre, staff counselling service and osteopathic clinic. In addition, our Health and Wellbeing Academy offers services that complement those provided by the NHS and allow people to make informed and positive lifestyle choices to improve their health and wellbeing
