About The Role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Finance and Events Assistant to join the South West Wales Reaching Wider Partnership team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a well-established widening participation programme that supports young people and under-represented groups in accessing Higher Education across South West Wales.

Led by Swansea University and based within Student Life, the partnership works closely with secondary schools, further education colleges and third sector organisations to deliver impactful activities that inspire and support learners from diverse backgrounds. As part of this dedicated team, you will play an important role in helping the programme operate effectively and efficiently.

Reporting to the SWWRW Partnership Manager, the successful candidate will provide essential financial and administrative support across a wide range of activities. The role includes managing day-to-day financial processes, processing payments, maintaining accurate records and supporting budget monitoring to ensure the successful delivery and future development of the programme. 

This role would suit someone with excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and confidence in handling financial information are essential. The successful candidate will also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive and purpose-driven team.

Welsh Language Skills

The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
