What made you decide to study at Swansea University?

First and foremost, I became interested in my course programme, which is unique in my opinion. Normally, the components of my course are studied individually, but at Swansea University, the three vital parts of today's digital world, such as communication, media, and public relations, are studied together. This combination is hard to find in the UK and throughout Europe.

What part of your course do you enjoy the most?

I am delighted with all the study modules of my course. They are in harmony with my professional activities. The opportunity to gain practical knowledge makes these programs even more valuable. In general, deep theory with high practice makes them unique and attractive.

How do you get on with your lecturers?  Are they supportive, helpful, approachable?

I was greatly impressed by the lecturers of my faculty. It is a fantastic and well-coordinated team of highly qualified, professional specialists of international level, ready to provide assistance and support to all students, not only in academic matters but also in any other.

How flexible do you find the course?  Do you have any favourite modules?

I was very interested in the PR, Branding & Promotion module. This module allowed me to understand brand promotion issues better and create the image of commercial companies and government organizations.

Have you used our careers team and what sort of advice would you give to prospective students about utilising the team?

Although I did not apply to the career team, I believe this is a unique opportunity for the students to get a prestigious job and demonstrate all their knowledge gained at the university in practice.

What skills have you learned studying at the School of Arts and Humanities and how will those help you progress your career?

All the skills I gained in the course, especially the practical skills of creating an effective promotional campaign, brand promotion and image formation, are combined with the main tasks of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in which I work.

The Agency ensures the implementation of a unified State information policy, coordinates the activities of the State media in this area, carries out methodological cooperation between the media and the Agency, and promotes the image policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan at home and abroad. Thus, all practical and theoretical knowledge allows me to support my team in successful communication and PR matters.

Are you a member of any societies? Have you taken any other opportunities?

Since the first semester is very busy with various assignments and study programs, I, unfortunately, did not have the opportunity to join any society. However, I will be happy to support my compatriots in creating a community of Uzbek students at Swansea University.

How do you find the sports facilities at the University?

I support a healthy lifestyle, and sport occupies an important place in my life. I attempt to compete in long-distance cross-country races on a regular basis. I can stay in shape thanks to the university's sports facilities. It is important for students, particularly while completing assignments and preparing for exams.

What are your three highlights about your course?

Communication; Media and PR - I think this unique combination of components of the modern digital world is the three highlights of my course.

What are your three highlights about living and studying in Swansea?

The local environment, South Wales' incredible natural beauty, the beautiful university campus, and the welcoming people all drew me in. For international students who have been away from home for a long period, I believe this is critical.

What would you say to anyone considering applying here from your home country?

If you want to earn a high education in one of the world's top universities, develop your international networking prospects, and immerse yourself in the wonderful world of Britain's great nature. In that case, Swansea University is the right place. Furthermore, I highly encourage my fellow citizens to take advantage of the 'El-Yurt umidi' foundation, which offers a wonderful opportunity to obtain an international education for the younger generation of 'New Uzbekistan'.
