Swansea University offers a number of funding assistance opportunities for US or Canadian citizens to help you to meet your costs of your study. If you like more information about one of the programmes listed below or need to have enrolment or tuition fee confirmation forms completed, please email Swansea University's North American Loans Officer.
Swansea University is a participating institution in the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program. The US Department of Education lends money directly to students through the student’s school. We offer assistance to a growing number of students (U.S. citizens only) seeking loans to study for either undergraduate or postgraduate courses at our University.
Before applying for a private loan, students are encouraged to apply for the maximum amount they are eligible for in Federal loans, as these loans are often cheaper, and most American students are eligible for them.
Swansea University will work with whichever private lender you decide to use, however, please be aware that Sallie Mae is the only lender we are currently aware of that is willing to lend to students at a foreign school. Please note that Sallie Mae is not a preferred lender and this does not represent a preferred lender arrangement.
Veterans Affairs - GI Bill
Swansea University participates in the VA Educational Benefits Programme enabling US Veterans or dependants to utilise GI Bill Funding to contribute towards tuition fees and living expenses whilst studying at the University.
Swansea University is a designated institution for the Canada Student Loan program. Our 4-digit Educational Institution code is "PUCM".
Canada Student Loans are issued and managed through the National Student Loans Service Centre, and are usually applied for at provincial level. Please visit Student aid - Canada.ca for full details on the application process and eligibility information.
