Students studying together

Ghent is a university city, just a 30-minute train ride away from Brussels and is on the line from Brussels to Bruges and the coast. It is a city of history, and during the Middle Ages was one of the richest and most powerful cities in Europe. The impact of this can still be seen today, with it’s impressive architecture throughout the city. There is plenty to see and do in the vicinity, and the student areas are packed with pubs, bars and clubs. Aside from it’s vibrant social scene, Ghent offers museums, cathedrals and other historic buildings for those looking to soak in the scenery and culture. Ghent University is a top 100 university and one of the major universities in Belgium, making it an attractive option for exchange. On campus accommodation is available for exchange students, and students are encouraged to submit an application once they have been accepted at Ghent.
