The following video gives you an overview of the upgrades that have come to the experience of submitting your assessments, and accessing your feedback in Canvas.
There is now the option to personalise your view of key information across all courses by customising your Canvas dashboard using widgets. This enables quick and easy access to key cross-course information.
If you wish to revert to the original view, select ‘Switch to old dashboard view’ at any point.
Your courses are all available via the second tab ‘Courses’ as shown in the screenshot below.
This widget provides a summary of your assignments across all courses, helping you identify work that is due soon, missing, or already submitted. You can turn off this view by using the green toggle switch. You also have the option of filtering by course or by submission status.
This widget displays recent course announcements so you can stay informed about updates, reminders, and important information from your instructors.
This widget track grades and academic progress across all courses. There is a green toggle that you can select if you do not want your grades visible on your dashboard. You can also control individual courses by clicking the eye icon within the course card.
This widget allows you to view and contact your lecturers. There is the option to filer by course or role. You can send tutors a message by clicking the envelope button to the right of the tutor’s name.
This widget lets you view and manage your planner items and upcoming tasks. You are also able to add your own tasks and assign them to a module.
This widget lets you view your recent graded assignments and submissions. From here you can access all grades by clicking on the ‘View all grades’ link. This will allow you to keep track of recent submissions.
This widget allows you see the number of your graded assignments, how many you have submitted and how many are remaining. This is a good visual reminder about progress you have made as well as what is still outstanding.
This widget lets you access your Canvas inbox quickly from this widget allowing you to see recent messages from your Canvas conversations.
