The Clinic, based at the Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law, was chosen as the winner of the 2020 LawWorks Cymru Award; an award that it also won back in December 2018.
The LawWorks Pro Bono Awards recognise and celebrate achievement in legal pro bono work, and the commitment of the legal sector in enabling access to justice.
Individuals and organisations across England and Wales are recognised, with winners being celebrated across eleven different categories. The ceremony was held on December 2nd, and the winners were announced digitally for the very first time.
The award marks another milestone for the Clinic, which has enjoyed repeated recent successes due to the commitment and hard work of both its volunteer solicitors and its students. The Clinic was recently accredited with the Advice Quality Standard quality mark and has previously been successful at both the LawWorks and Attorney General Student Pro Bono Awards, and the LawWorks Pro Bono Awards.
Speaking of the latest award win, Professor Richard Owen, Director of the Law Clinic said:
"I am delighted that Swansea Law Clinic has won this award. It is a testament to the support that we get from seven local law firms who volunteer in the Clinic and the work of our Student Advisers who always work to the highest standards."
