Reporting to the Provost, the Pro Vice Chancellor and Executive Dean for the Faculty of Science and Engineering (PVC ED–FSE) is accountable for the strategic leadership of the Faculty, ensuring its academic and financial objectives are met, and contributing to the wider University leadership as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
The Pro Vice Chancellor and Executive Dean will be responsible for developing and delivering a Faculty strategy, setting out plans to enhance the quality of our academic endeavour as well as the reputation of the Faculty’s disciplines at Welsh, national and international levels. Driving efficiency and effectiveness, they will work collegiately to develop new income streams, achieve financial sustainability, and meet strategic objectives. The post holder will be expected to foster a culture of inclusivity and empowerment in alignment with the University’s values.
Strong candidates for the role will bring an established international reputation in a discipline aligned to the Faculty and an outstanding track record of senior leadership at relevant scale. They will demonstrate the ability to think strategically, manage resources effectively, and work with colleagues to deliver results and drive innovation. Outstanding interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills, will also be key.
