About The Role

Based in The College, Swansea University

We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Lecturer to join our academic team to teach on biology and chemistry modules across foundation pathways.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for introducing and developing students’ understanding and enquiry, possess a strong academic background and be dedicated to creating an engaging learning environment.

You will play a pivotal role in delivering modules, guiding students in their academic studies, leading them to develop an enquiring and critical mindset, and contributing to wider college activities.

Hourly rate of pay, £36.50 - £42 per teaching contact hour depending on qualifications and experience. Rate for meetings and additional activities is half teaching rate.

Flexible teaching hours to suit the individual, starting in September 2026, which will include related academic administration. Additional time paid for moderation, meetings, training, writing assessments and marking for one main assessment.

Welsh Language Skills

The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
