Why did you choose to study at Swansea University?
I chose Swansea University for many reasons and I am glad that I chose Swansea University in the end. The first reason was basically that not many universities provide the senior status LLB program and that was something special about Swansea University that they provide all programmes and degrees.

Secondly, I would like to mention the second point which was the high ranking of Swansea University and actually Swansea University is in the top 25 universities in the UK for Law and it's ranked top ten in the UK for student satisfaction.

Thirdly, the fact that the structure of the degree would allow me to have optional modules in the second year that was something I was really looking for because it gives me a lot of opportunities and options that I can have a more focused approach in my studies and in certain areas of law.

The fourth reason for me to choose Swansea University was the wide range of extracurricular activities and that was really fascinating. I am currently participating in more than five competitions, the Law Society, the Bar society and I am that subject representative for first year law students.

The fifth reason also was that although Swansea University has a very high-quality education as one of the top universities in the UK, the tuition fees were significantly lower than other universities in the UK and that's was very important for me financially wise. Last but not least the very amazing feedback I've got from students who studied at Swansea University. So, basically when I was researching to decide whether Swansea University is the best fit for me or not, I reached out for some students and they told me about how the lecturers are approachable and I can relate now. It's something that I'm really grateful for now. The lecturers are very friendly approachable and helpful through the whole academic year.

Can you tell us about your course and what do you enjoy the most?
Well, I'm a first-year law student studying the Law LLB (senior status) degree. Basically, it's two years instead of three years because I already have another bachelor’s degree. If I would say what I am enjoying the most about my course would be the high-quality education we get and the support we get from the law school and the university on both the professional and the academic level.

What are your three favourite things about Swansea?

I would say that the three favorite things about Swansea firstly would be the sea. Literally you would be two or three minutes away from the sea walking and that's really great because in terms of the situation now and the covid regulations we don't get to meet a lot of people and then it is really important for the mental health to go for a walk. Just having a walk on the beach would be pretty much enough to refresh your mind and go back complete your study. Feeling the freshness of the air and the beauty of the Sea.

The second thing would be how friendly the people are in Swansea University and in Swansea as a city they are so friendly. I can say literally everyone here is so friendly either from the staff or from the locals in Swansea.

The third thing, and you might find this weird, for me is the weather. Actually, I've heard a lot about the weather in Swansea before I come here and that it's raining the whole year, but I didn't find it this way at all. I really enjoyed the weather here it is sunny so many days. Not most of the days but even the days that are not sunny are lovely. Also, it’s not that cold as I thought it would be, so I guess the weather is perfect here for me.

Would you recommend Swansea University to other international students?
Absolutely! I couldn’t be more satisfied with my experience here at Swansea University. And I am glad that I chose Swansea University as my first choice.
