New Mexico State University sits on a 900-acre campus, it is a public land grant and NASA space-grant college flagship, classified by the Carnegie Foundation as an "R-2 Doctorate-granting University - with higher research activity". The prestigious marching band of NMSU is known for its public performances, providing entertainment for college events, at the London New Year’s Day parade and dozens of NFL halftimes. They are the pride of New Mexico and collectively include around 200 musicians, dancers and auxiliary.
