Poland is in central Europe and is the 77th largest country in the world with over 38.5 million people. In 1989, Poland ceased being a communist country and became a liberal democracy. Poland is made of sixteen regions known as voivodeships.

Important Considerations

  • For stays over 90 days you will need to apply for a National visa (D-type). You will need the following documents:
    • Visa application form
    • Colour photograph 
    • Passport issued within the last 10 years, valid for at least three months from the expected return date.
    • Insurance
    • Proof of finances
    • Proof of accommodation such as a hotel booking or rental contract
    • Letter of acceptance from host university
  • You can apply for a Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) 
  • Accommodation options will vary depending on where you study, you should ensure you submit your housing application by the deadline.
