Discover why people love Swansea University
One of the biggest concerns can be the cost of going to university, most UK students will pay for their tuition fees and living expenses by applying for financial support through the relevant Student Finance websites. Don't forget you may also be entitled to a scholarship or bursary - at Swansea University you could receive up to £3,000! Additionally, there are lots of student jobs available on campus that will fit in with your timetable, plus employability support available to help you.

Going to university is an exciting time but it’s a big change and making sure the university you want to go to has the right support systems in place is important. At Swansea we have a variety of support services around academic success, finance, employability, wellbeing and more.
We provide information, advice, guidance, and support to enable every student to develop and achieve their full potential.

Students going through Clearing can apply for University managed accommodation using their UCAS ID number. Students without a UCAS ID number can apply after they've received their student number from the University (your student number will be sent to you as soon as your application is received).
We have a range of University-managed accommodation options available to all students applying through Clearing.

We cannot discuss your child's application unless you have been nominated on their UCAS form, or have their permission.
With permission, we can advise you directly on accommodation, the kind of support they will have when they arrive, and general information about the University, Swansea and the surrounding area.

The Clearing Process
If you have any questions about Clearing, read on to learn all you need to know about the process... start your next chapter with Swansea!
Don’t panic - you are not alone. Clearing is a great way to speak to either your chosen university and explore the options there, or you can speak to other universities who may have places on the course you want to study. At Swansea we can be flexible around certain offers.
Call us to discuss your options
If you are already holding a place at another university and are considering Swansea, you can decline your offer and enter clearing from July 2nd.
Read our guide on how to decline your offer
If you apply through UCAS for September 2026, you will automatically be entered into the Clearing process if you are not accepted by your firm and insurance choices, or if you submit your application after 30 June. If you become eligible to use Clearing an 'Add Clearing choice' choice will become available on your UCAS Hub.
For many students, Clearing only becomes available once their results have been released and if they haven’t met the entry criteria required.
If you haven't got a live UCAS application don’t worry, you will still be able to apply directly to Swansea University. You can call us on 0808 175 3071 from the beginning of July and our team will talk you through the process.
If you are appealing your grades, and we have made you a clearing offer onto a foundation or other alternative course based on your current grades, please note that we may be able to move you onto your preferred course if your new grades match our entry requirements for that course. Just let us know as soon as you learn your updated grades. If you have them before October 15th 2026, we will be able to move you onto the original programme for which you applied.
Please note that this excludes any commissioned/clinical courses which are funded by Welsh Government.
Submitting a Clearing application to Swansea University is easy, just follow the steps outlined in our Guide to Clearing!
