German-Kurdish film director Hüseyin Tabak visited Swansea and Bangor universities as a guest of Think German Wales and the Institute of Modern Languages Research, 7-10 March 2018. In Swansea he lead a workshop attended by A/S level pupils from local schools studying his film Das Pferd auf dem Balkon, took part in Q & A at local venue Cinema & Co after a screening of Deine Schönheit ist nichts wert and discussed his work at a public event at the Dylan Thomas Birthplace.

Andreas Dresden, visiting film-maker, 25-27 November 2014.

The Centre is pleased to announce that Andreas Dresen will be our first ever film-maker in residence from 25-27 November 2014. Dresen will be discussing his work with students of German in seminars, lectures, and language classes on the mornings of Wednesday and Thursday (26 and 27 November). In addition there are two public events on 26 November to which all are invited.

Jörg Bernig, visiting writer, 21 October to 15 November 2013.

German author Jörg Bernig, who spent two years as a language tutor in Swansea University, returned to Swansea to work with students and staff as Writer in Residence at the Centre for Contemporary German Culture, in a scheme supported by the German government.
