Prof Gert Aarts FLSW is a professor in theoretical physics, with research interests in QCD under extreme conditions, the sign problem, and computational and analytical approaches in quantum field theory.

He is currently Director of the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Advanced Computing (AIMLAC) and Head of the Particle Physics and Cosmology Theory group.
