Swansea University’s School of Management is to launch a Financial Technology (Fintech) Master's degree in September 2021.

Disruptive technologies are affecting all areas of financial services and this course will examine applications of financial technology in banking, insurance, asset management and many other finance sectors.

In preparation for a career in the rapidly expanding Fin Tech sector, this programme will help you gain cutting-edge knowledge on finance applications of blockchain technology, digital currencies, Big Data and artificial intelligence.

You will acquire an in-depth understanding of the financial technology environment, develop skills in programming, machine learning and network security as well as knowledge of financial markets institutions and systems.

The MSc will combine expertise from the School of Management’s Department of Accounting and Finance, as well as the University’s Department of Computer Science based close to the School of Management on the Bay Campus at the Computational Foundry.

"By bringing the two sets of expertise together, the course will provide a very powerful combination that will lead to students’ increased understanding of the world of finance within a technological environment, and enhance the skilled talent pool for this sector," said Dr Mike Buckle, Programme Director
