UWTSD will contribute to ASTUTE 2020 in collaboration with the Faculty of Architecture, Computing and Engineering (FACE) and the School of Engineering, Manufacturing and Logistics in the field of Non-destructive testing under the key expertise theme of Computational Engineering Modelling.
UWTSD undertakes research, development and innovation of NDT techniques in collaboration with companies to characterise the performance of materials and components in the Welsh manufacturing sector. UWTSD will build on its strengths in the following areas:
- Ultrasonic
- Magnetic flux leakage
- Thermography
- Laser Doppler scanning vibrometry
Continuing from its successful involvement with the ASTUTE (2010 – 2015), the UWTSD ASTUTE 2020 team will collaborate with companies from West Wales and the Valleys using its NDT facilities and its expanded team of specialist academics.
