Our research

The Department brings together over 30 academic staff, dedicated technicians, and administrative support staff. All academic staff in Psychology are active, internationally recognised researchers.

The Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014:

Research Themes:

The Department of Psychology undertakes scientific research under four broad themes: Clinical and Health Psychology, Cognition and Perception, Cognitive Neuroscience, and Forensic Psychology.

Pursue a Psychology PhD

If you are interested in pursuing a PhD by research under the supervision of a member of staff from any of the  you will need at least an upper-second class degree in psychology or a related science field.

Our research facilities give you excellent opportunities to undertake world-class research on a broad range of topics under the supervision of subject specialists with international reputations.
