TRAVELLING BY CAR

As part of our efforts to be a zero carbon university by 2035, we encourage students and staff to choose active and sustainable travel options wherever possible. For those living further afield then we recommend the local bus services.

PLEASE NOTE - Parking on campus and bay studios between the hours of 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday (Core Hours) is for pay to park and annual permit holders only. Non permit holders can park on campus outside of the core hours, and must pay to park.

Our designated car parks are covered by an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system.

Our designated parking on Bay Campus, Bay Studios and Singleton Park Campus operate an Automatic Numberplate Recognition System.

There is no parking for students on campus or at bay studios between 8am until 4pm, Monday to Friday (except for those with a valid permit - see specific permit information on our students, visitors, contractors and staff pages)
Student out of hours permits are available at a cost of £30 per year, allowing students to park on Singleton campus and Bay Studios from 4pm to 8am, Monday to Friday and on weekends free of charge.
Between 4pm and 8am Monday to Friday and over weekends, those without permits can pay to park at our designated car parks.

Parking near Singleton Park Campus

The Recreation Ground Car Park

There are a number of Pay and Display parking spaces available for staff and students and visitors at the Swansea Council run Recreation Ground to the east of Singleton Park Campus (around a 5 minute walk). If you hold a student or staff parking permit, you can park here for free. If you do not hold a permit, you need to pay and display.

The Pub on The Pond Car Park

There are a number of Pay and Display parking spaces available for use at The Pub on The Pond to the west of campus (about a 2 minute walk). Staff and student parking permits are not valid for this car park - you should pay and display if you park here.

Parking near Bay Campus

We are working hard behind the scenes to bring you up to date information for the 2024/2025 academic year.

Fabian Way Park and Ride

We encourage staff and students who have to drive to University to make use of the Fabian Way secure “safer by design” Park and Ride facility.

The 92 Service

From within the Fabian Way Park & Ride facility, First Cymru's 92 service picks up and drops off to Bay Campus, Monday to Friday from 08:10 to 17:50.

Please note - The Fabian Way Park and Ride service operates during term time only.

How much does it cost to use Fabian Way Park and Ride?

During term time it costs £1 to park at the Park & Ride facility.

If you prefer not to take the bus, you can pick up a Swansea University Cycles bike from the Park & Ride facility and dock it at the Bay Campus hub.
