The largest investment ever in South West Wales

The £1.3billion Swansea Bay City Region is the largest ever investment across South West Wales. The City Region aims to deliver 11 technology, health and wellbeing and advanced engineering projects in the Swansea Bay City Region over 15 years.

The UK and Welsh government backed investment has brought together the four local councils of Swansea, Carmarthenshire, Neath Port Talbot and Pembrokeshire and public sector partners including Swansea University.

The Medical School is a key part of the region and is helping to test new health and life science concepts and then commercialise them for a global market. The Medical School, along with colleagues in the University, are also helping to deliver the skills initiative embedded within the City Region’s ambitions.

The Medical School is part of the development of Health and Life Science campuses at Singleton and Morriston.
