For the past few years Kennedys, a global firm specialising in various legal commercial sectors, and particularly insurance, has generously sponsored a prize for Swansea’s marine insurance module.
This year's highest mark in marine insurance was achieved by Yuan Qiao, who will be benefitting from both a cash prize and the opportunity to intern with the firm.
The award was presented at a lunch in Kennedys' London office, by Partner Michael Biltoo. Michael is a Swansea graduate, and a specialist in the marine and shipping sector, who principally represents owners, charterers, freight forwarders and cargo insurers in a variety of shipping and transport related matters.
Speaking of his achievement, Yuan stated:
"I am very grateful for my university and professors for supporting my learning, and to Kennedys, such a prestigious firm, for giving me this chance."
Speaking after the event Dr Kurtz-Shefford, who accompanied Yuan with Professor Soyer to Kennedys, said:
