The university is located on the banks of the Rhine in an hour west of Frankfurt. Winters are cool with snowfall quite frequent but not abundant and summers warm with thunderstorms possible. The University is one of the few campus based universities in Germany and the town has a lovely small town feel. Students are able to live in halls of residences but a place in one of these can’t be guaranteed and students may have to look at private accommodation.
