Grenoble is a city located in south-eastern France, in the Rhône-Alpes region that encompasses the French Alps. The climate is quite cold in winter, with days of snow almost every year. Summers are known to be hot, as mountains surrounding the town stop any wind. The city is renowned for its universities and for its scientific research centres in the northeast of the city. It is a multi-campus university, spanning across 6 campuses, and you will be based on the Grenoble Alps campus. The University has an active associative life with around 300 student associations and numerous cultural and social outreach initiatives. In terms of accommodation, exchange students who complete the housing application process by the deadline are guaranteed their preference, so students should bear this in mind when applying to go on exchange.
It will not be possible to complete a year abroad at this University if you have any assessments, such as supplementary or deferred exams, during the August assessment period at Swansea University.
