Read&Write is a literacy support tool that offers help with everyday tasks for studying in Higher Education. Whether you need to read large volumes of text, or assistance with writing and proof-reading your assignments, or tools to help with revision for your exams. The software can read any digital text aloud and has built in grammar and a phonetic spell checker. Built with accessibility in mind this software is helpful for students whose first language is not English, or for students with additional needs such as Dyslexia or mild visual impairments.

How to access the software

Read&Write is available on campus PCs for all Swansea University students and staff, and can be found on the unified desktop under “Accessibility”.

In addition students who qualify for the Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA), may also be provided with a copy of the software for their own computer as part of their individual adjustments and assistive technology requirements.
