This prestigious British Academy Fellowship, worth £89,000, will allow Dr Cynfael Lake to study the poems of Hywel Dafi who is the only major 15thcentury Welsh poet whose work remains to be edited.

Dr Cynfael Lake is a Senior Lecturer in Welsh at Academi Hywel Teifi. He recently completed a study of the work of Huw Jones from Llangwm, one of the principle Welsh ballard writers of the 18th century.
