Pro-Vice-Chancellor for International Engagement
Professor Judith Lamie is Pro Vice-Chancellor for International Engagement. Judith most recently worked as a Higher Education consultant and joins us with a wealth of experience, having previously held various strategic and internationally-focused senior roles within a number of institutions. Her former roles include Director of International Strategy and Relations at the University of Birmingham, International Director at the University of Leeds, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International) at Middlesex University, PVC (External Affairs) at the University of Derby and Chair of the Board of Directors at Navitas UK.
Working collaboratively across our Faculties and Professional Services, Judith will support our ambitious international aims by working to broaden our global partnerships, develop a successful transnational education portfolio, increase our international student recruitment and continue to enhance our reputation as a world-leading institution.
Judith continues to publish and present widely on the topics of international education, the management of change and innovation and internationalisation. In January 2022 Judith co-authored, The Evolution of Transnational Education: Pathways, Globalisation and Emerging Trends, with Dr Chris Hill and Dr Tim Gore. Judith's latest book, The Evolving Nature of Universities: What Shapes and Influences Identity in International Higher Education, was published by Routledge in August 2023.
